What is a superficial foundation?
In professional jargon, this type of foundation is nicknamed shingling sole. It is particularly recommended for soils bearing character. With a moderate depth, the buildings of lesser load will be perfectly adapted to these structures. These will be placed evenly below the load-bearing walls. Thus, better stability will be achieved. To avoid the adverse effects of cold on performance, they will be buried about 50 cm to 1 m deep. In the case of relatively vulnerable lands, it would be wise to favor the installation of superficial riffles. However, it will be necessary to make sure that the slabs are in support. In general, it is during housing expansion work that this method is used. Thus, the final geometric dimensions and aspects will depend largely on the total load to be supported.
